When we lived in Seattle, we walked to the grocery store least once a week. Since moving to suburbville in St. Louis, I can count the number of times I have walked to the grocery store--twice. It takes over an hour of walking and you have to cross a four lane road without a pedestrian signal or sidewalk. St. Louis isn't really a walking town! Still, Jonathan and I braved the danger for the ice cream and green beans we needed for our dinner last night.

It was a lovely afternoon to be out. (I think
Lady Spring is starting to wear down King Winter)
Along the way Charlie learned how interesting it is to make noise while being bumped over the brick sidewalk.

Who doesn't have fond memories of doing this as a child? Another vital discovery of childhood to check off his list!
