little bear

Charlie has become fast friends with Little Bear.

Everywhere Charlie goes, Little Bear goes too. I even caught him trying to stuff Little Bear into the dishwasher yesterday. This fascination for Little Bear goes way back in our family.

The Little Bear book series by Elsa Holmelund Minarik, illustrated by Marice Sendak, were the first books my father learned to read. He read us those stories from his original books thousands of times growing up!

Then, when I was young, I was given a stuffed bear holding a baby bear in its velco paws. I immediately named Mama Bear and Little Bear and never thought of them as anyone other than the characters from these delightful books.
I can't wait until Charlie is old enough to read these books too!

P.S. And while we are on the subject of bears, look how I prepared breakfast this morning!

....Papa bear's was too hot, Mama bear's was too cold, but Little bear's was just right!
