We celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 16th by having dinner at our favorite restaurant in Seattle. Jonathan surprised me with these earrings.
We are now officially up to our foreheads and ears in boxes. In fact there is a pile behind me right now, trying to squeeze me out of the office as I type.

Unfortunately moving means realizing how MANY things you have, and how many things you can't keep. We sold our motorcycle. It was really sad for me because we fell in love on that motorcycle. It was the transportation for our first real date and we even drove away from our wedding on it! Last Saturday we took our last ride on it. By Sunday afternoon it was sold!
Among the more humourous activities of the month was the way Jonathan and I shredded the humongo pile of outdated papers we pulled out of our filing drawers. We borrowed a friend's shredder and watched movies and shredded all night...great packing material!
We've started saying goodbye. Today was Jonathan's last day at the shop, and my last day nannying. Cole and I made this little map collage to commemorate, and help him understand what "moving" means. It is not a really fun thing to have to explain in the black and white terms a three-year-old needs...There is no good way to say, " I won't be able to drive over and visit you."

Also, this was my last week of piano lessons, sigh! I will surely miss those students--their funny antics, and inability to stay on the piano bench included!
Looking ahead, the beginning of August is going to be a whirlwind. We have a few people coming over ot help us pack this weekend, and then the truck container comes on the 7th. Next Saturday we are garage saling everything that didn't fit in the container. Then we drive out of town--seperately, though each with our own walkie-talkie--on August 14th. I hope to put a few pictures up while we are in transit, but no promises!
We hope to arrive in St. Louis on the 18th, and get settled before classes and orientation start on the 23rd.
Overall, it is just too weird to believe that we are moving. I tried starting a denial club. Several of my friends joined. I even had volunteers for most of the positions, secretary, vice president, treasureor...unfortunatly denial works a lot better when your pictures are still hanging on your wall and you are not sleeping on an air mattress!
That's all for now folks!

I really like the map you and C drew...
not only is it cute, but it shows how close I'll have some more friends!! You're not gonna be too far from Texas, so if you ever want to stop by, the guest room will be ready for you!!
have a good & safe move!!
