I also got to meet Jon's girlfriend, Kara.

A couple hours later, my parents and grandparents rolled into town after the two-day drive from North Carolina. They were very tired and very happy to be there.

We all went out to dinner at the Seven Barrel Brewery.

Then we drove up to Liberty Hill Farm to spend the night. The next morning we all took it easy. This front porch is the natural habitat for the rocking chair! And there were enough to go around!

Around noon we headed back down to Dartmouth for a barbecue being thrown by Jon and his housemates for their families. It was a lovely afternoon of chatting and eating.

Erik and Grandpa chewin' the fat.

At one point I mentioned Kara to Jon when he looked like this, and then just kept snapping pictures because the transformation was incredible to behold!
"Kara?"

"Did you say Kara?"

"mmm Kara is nice"

"yeah, REALLY nice!"

Then my dad and Erik stole the camera and began taking what they called "Marzinke Pictures", because Jonathan wasn't there to take them himself. Here are a few...I'll let you figure out what they mean by a 'marzinke picture" on your own.

After the barbecue, we all went back to Liberty Hill Farm and spent a wonderful afternoon giggling sibling secrets on the lawn.

Mom came out to take our picture, and I took hers.

Here we are enjoying a feast at Aunt Beth's table.

In preparation for Jon's upcoming road trip accross the U S of A, Jon and Erik work on devising a way for Jon to use the current from his car battery to run a rice cooker, an electric skillet and his laptop. These are all the pieces.

Here's Erik doing the electric skillet dance....a unique ritual only known by a few Jacobsons. Notice the sexy legs!

Because Aunt Beth's was full to over-flowing that night. Jon and Erik slept in a tent out on the lawn.

Here we are EARLY Sunday morning (read 6:30 am) saving seats. Please notice the generous shelter over the seats....yup that's right! None!

Then we went to Jon's History Department Breakfast.

After the breakfast, Jon had to go line up with the other graduates. He looked a little nervous, so we sent Erik with him to make sure he didn't bolt. Here's Erik trying to lighten the mood.

I don't think it worked.

Then everyone tried on my hat while waiting for Graduation to begin at 10:00.

I just have never seen anything funnier than this!

We had a great time covering ourselves in plastic bags.

Never been dryer!

Here come the graduates...can't you see them? Where's Jon?

But of course, there he is, behind the blue umbrella!

I was bored during the ceremony and took this cool shot.

Here is Jon getting his diploma.

All Hail the Conquering Graduate!

Hooray...it's done!

The proud siblings.

Jon and Kara.

Gramps, mom and Grandma.

OK, so this picture just breaks my heart.

After the graduation ceremony, Jon opened up his gifts. My mom manged to find a hungry catapillar card..

Hugs all around.

I can't remember what we were laughing at...but it WAS really funny.

The next morning (monday) Kara's family came up to the Farm to have breakfast with all of us.

And then Dad drove me three hours to Boston airport. We had a lovely conversation. And then I had to go. But it sure was fun!

Nice pics Keren. Thanks for sharing. I know it takes a long time to upload that many pictures, but I think it was worth it!
